Tom Stefanoff has been an employee of the Carbon County Sheriff’s office for 23 years. Recently, he made the decision to hang up his badge and enter into retirement. Before he was bid farewell, a special presentation for his retirement took place at the Carbon County Commission meeting on Wednesday evening.

Sheriff Jeff Wood spoke a few warm words about Stefanoff, stating that he remembers when he started working for the department 23 years ago, when he was working at the old jail. The commissioners then presented Stefanoff with a plaque to honor his retirement.

Commissioner Casey Hopes shared that Stefanoff has entered a number of different levels during the time that he served in department. Hopes then informed all that it has been a pleasure to get to know Stefanoff and work with him.

“It’s been a privilege to serve the community,” Stefanoff said.
