A tractor trailer spontaneously combusted near 2432 Old Wellington Rd, Wellington, at approximately 9:13 p.m. Saturday evening.
The trailer’s driver, a Wellington resident, stopped for dinner with his RNIndustries semi-truck. The driver removed the trailer from the cab and hooked the trailer to a block warmer.
According to Carbon County Sheriff James Cordova, the driver soon noticed the trailer was on fire and contacted dispatch. Dispatch then sent fire department representatives to handle the situation.
Firemen discovered there was no damage to the cargo and quickly gained control of the scene.
The truck was carrying oil sludge.
