The International Days horseshoe tournament brought 24 teams to Washington Park on Saturday.

Participants and spectators watched Caden Anderson, the youngest participant in the top three teams, compete in the championship round alongside his partner Neal Mead. Anderson turned 15-years-old the day before and only met Mead on Saturday. He and his partner played through the championship round as an undefeated team before falling short after playing Cody Allen and Ricky Neal Sandoval twice in the final bout. Colton Pilling and Cody Moynier rounded out the top three teams.

Rochelle Badback, CCR Horseshoe Director, was pleased with the turn out, which brought some new faces to this year’s tournament.

Next up for local horseshoe players is the Carbon County Fair on Aug. 8. Sign up will take place at 10 a.m. with a single elimination singles division tournament at 11 a.m. and a double elimination doubles division tournament to follow immediately after.
