The Carbon Lady Dinos played their last home game of the 2016 season Tuesday, against the Richfield Wildcats for a chance at a state playoff spot. The Wildcats and Dinos played hard in regulation and two overtime periods, with the game ending in a 0-0 tie.
“The teams that we have played were good teams and we definitely deserve to go to state,” expressed head coach Cynthia Lancaster. “We have worked hard; we are one of the best teams in our region even if record doesn’t show it, we dominate at passing, we just couldn’t get shots in the goal.”
After the game was over the senior Dinos received gifts from fellow teammates.
After the tie, Carbon still has a chance to make the postseason. Should Richfield lose to North Sanpete on Thursday, Carbon and Richfield will square off in a play-in game on Monday at Emery. A win Thursday by the Wildcats would eliminate the Dinos.
