Two Carbon County employees will soon be entering into retirement and the commissioners took time during their Wednesday evening commission meeting to shine the spotlight on these individuals.
Ellen Serfustini and Bonnie Chavez will both be saying goodbye to their respective positions with the county. Serfustini has served as the USU Extension County Director while Chavez oversaw the East Carbon Senior Center. Both ladies have worked for the county for a total of 22 years.
Commission chair Larry Jensen stated that the commissioners appreciate all of the work and contributions throughout all the years from the duo before asking them to come forward. While Serfustini was in attendance to accept her retirement plaque, Robbie Jensen of the senior centers stood in Chavez’ place as she was unable to attend.
Serfustini graciously thanked the commissioners for the recognition and Robbie Jensen formally acknowledged Chavez for all the work she has completed at the senior center. He then informed the commissioners that the East Carbon seniors wished to host a party in Chavez’s honor next week and he would be sure to present Chavez with the plaque during the celebrations. Commissioner Jensen then asked Robbie Jensen to inform them of when the celebration would take place in order for one of the commissioners to attempt to attend.
