U-DOT Summer Construction Updates

The Summer road construction season is in full swing. U-DOT has sent out an update on where there may be delays and orange cones.

Highway 6,Tucker to Soldier Summit: Paving operations are underway. Travel will be restricted to one-way traffic with flaggers and a pilot car operation. Delays of up to 15 minutes are to be expected Monday through Friday from 7 am to 7 pm. Paving operations are taking place in the Eastbound lanes of Highway 6 between MP 204 and MP 211 (Soldier Summit). Work is anticipated to be complete late June, 2013. New asphalt pavement will provide and smoother ride and prolong the life of the road.

I-70, Belknap to Sigurd: Construction begins Monday, July 8, 2013. There will be intermittent Eastbound and Westbound, outside lane closures near Belknap.

I-70 Sinbad to Brake Test: Construction activity on the project is suspended until June 17 when chip seal operations will begin.

I-70; MP 154.30 to 175.81:  There is one lane traffic in each direction through the construction zone. Watch for personnel in the area and obey all posted warnings.

R-290 Snow College Loop: In order to accommodate the heavy summer activity schedule at the college for the month of June, we have decided to halt all construction activity for the remainder of the month. We will begin pedestrian ramp construction on the first of July. We will be in contact again as that date approaches. 

US-191 MP 136.81 – 139.97 and MP145.73 – 151.00: Crews are repairing soft spots, rotomilling and removing base materials near MP 136. At times there will be one lane of travel and pilot car use.
