Seven members of the Emery High rodeo team finished in the top ten at the UHSRA State Finals. Shaylee Gilbert was sixth in breakaway roping with Will and Wyatt Magnuson taking 10th in team roping. In reining cow horse, Korby Christiansen was seventh, Riata Christiansen finished eighth and Drake Weber took 10th. Hayden Cloward took third in team roping.
Cloward will be representing Utah at the NHSRA finals in Rock Springs, Wyo., July 14-21. Cloward has accomplished this for four years with four different partners. Two seniors from the Emery High team, Cloward and Christiansen, received rodeo scholarships. They were both also named to the academic all star state team. Cloward was chosen for the Nutrena Championship team and Christiansen represented Utah on the Cinch All Star State Team.
