20 pumpkins went under the knife yesterday at Castleview Hospital, but all are doing exceptionally well and will be fully recovered В to light the way for tonight’s Trick-or-Treaters.
This year Elaine Bowman, Marketing Coordinator with Castleview, encouraged theВ hospital’sВ departments to get creative with their pumpkin contest. She asked participating staff members to carve and decorate their pumpkins to represent each individual department. Elaine was notВ disappointedВ with the entries. Pumpkins were submitted from many departments including phlebotomy; ear, nose and throat; medical records; OB; surgery; X-ray and more. Judging was very close but in the end the skull from the Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist took first place winning a pizza party for the department, second place wasВ awardedВ to the food and nutriton department with their festiveВ porcupineВ on a platter, winning a Cold Stone ice cream party, and in third place winning a root beer float party was the OB department and their baby carriage pumpkin. No matter who won, the event benefitted a great cause with all pumpkins donated from Banasky Insurance in return for a donation made to the Castle Valley Angel Tree from Castle View Hospital.
