Students at Cleveland Elementary shaved their heads in support of Taylor in May.

One of Emery County’s youngest residents is currently battling her second diagnosis of leukemia.

Kaylee Taylor is a daughter, sister, student at Cleveland Elementary and so much more. She is currently receiving treatment at Primary Children’s Hospital, causing her parents to have the need to travel often.

Travel needs and medical bills on top of every day life add to the stress and worry that Taylor’s family are already experiencing each day. Due to this, a fundraiser in Taylor’s honor is being hosted on Aug. 7 in Cleveland.

This fundraiser will provide attendees with a multitude of options for fun, including a movie in the park with concessions, a cornhole tournament, a dinner, raffle and two separate auctions.

The dinner will be hosted at Cleveland Elementary School, where funds have already been raised for Taylor through the gathering of change. Students also chose to shave their heads in solidarity of Taylor’s fight previously. The dinner will be hosted from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. that evening and will feature a pulled pork sandwich, chips and a drink for $5 each or $25 for an immediate family.

A silent and live auction will feature local artist’s work, Mary Kay, a Schouten Orthodontics coupon and much more.

The cornhole tournament will be $10 per team and will feature cash prizes. It will take place from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in Cleveland Park. Those that wish to enter may contact Brydi at (435) 749-0227.

Raffle tickets are $1 each and may be purchased at JN Auto, the KFJ C-Store, IFA, Smart Health Pharmacy, Forbidden Fruit, and Carbon Print and Design. The prizes include one small pig, cut and wrapped, a gun, iPad or a photo session with Nicole Hooley.

Finally, a donation account has been established at Zions Bank under the name “Kaylee Taylor Leukemia Fund.”
