A two vehicle accident occurred one mile north of the Hiawatha turn off on Highway 10 at approximately 11:15 a.m. Friday. Utah Highway Patrol cited the cause of the accident as failure to yield.

The accident involved a passenger car and a pickup truck. Both vehicles were traveling south on Highway 10 when the pickup stopped with it’s blinker on in order to make a left hand turn. The driver of the passenger car did not realize the truck was stopped and was unable to break in time to avoid a collision.

Both vehicles were forced off the road. The passenger of the car was pinned inside the vehicle. Rescue teams were able to free her from the wreckage. She was then sent to Castleview Hospital for possible rib fractures.

Passengers of the truck were checked and cleared with only minor injuries.
