The USU Eastern rodeo team traveled to Utah Valley University over the weekend for the last event of the fall season. The team did very well with five team members making the short round.

Will and Wyatt Magnuson split third and fourth place in the first round and won the short round and the average in team roping. They are sitting in fourth place in the region in team roping and both are in the top 10 in the tie down roping. Will is currently ranked fourth all-around in the region.

Austin Allred won the short round in bull riding. This put him in third place in the region in that event. He is also ranked fifth in the nation. The men’s team is currently ranked sixth in the region.

Morgan Jensen was third in the first round, second in the short round and second in the average in the barrel racing. This currently ranks Morgan first in the region and second in the nation. Afton McCourt made the short round in the team roping but failed to stop the clock in the short round. The women’s team is currently sitting in fourth place in the region.

“I couldn’t be more proud of our team and we have several of our team members sitting really well to qualify for nationals. We will keep working all winter in preparation for the spring season that starts in March,” said head coach Monte Jensen.
