USU Eastern hosted a blood drive in the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center Monday. Approximately 60 citizens showed up to the event organized by Angelica Gomez, a senior at Carbon High School.
At the end of the day an estimated 70-75 units of blood were donated, far surpassing the goal of 50. Gomez was happy to be involved in the event and was thankful to those who helped out.
“I just wanted to help out,” she said. “Thanks to all of the people who helped me, and the Red Cross crew especially.”
This was Gomez’s first time hosting a blood drive.
