The Fall Sing Concert and Chamber Choir delighted audience members on Wednesday in the Geary Event Center on the USUE campus. The choirs are directed by Larry Martin and accompanied by pianist Elise Tuttle.
Both of these ensembles of students were audition choirs. The concert choir consists of 20 students, and the chamber choir holds 16. The chamber choir has only four people on each part: soprano, alto, tenor and bass. This choir performs more difficult pieces. Some of these students are involved in both choirs.
The chamber choir sang a total of five songs while the concert choir sang six. The last three songs of the concert, sang by the concert choir, were dedicated songs of America. One of the songs was devoted to active and veteran military members, and members were asked to stand during this piece.
The next choir performance will be the afternoon of Nov. 3 for the First Annual UMEA Eastern Utah Honor Choir Festival Concert. This event will be hosted in the Geary Event Center on the USU Eastern campus at 3 p.m.
