Thursday night was a battle of the Eagles as USU Eastern and College of Southern Idaho, who both have the Golden Eagle as a mascot, went head-to-head. It was south over east in a close game where CSI beat Eastern 77-75.

The first half was a low-scoring affair with Eastern keeping up with CSI until just before the break. The home team put a great second half effort to pull themselves back in, but were not able to hold off CSI in the end.

Jeleni Neely scored 21 and Nafes Walker added 18 for Eastern. Tod Helgensen pulled in 11 boards in the loss.

The team will face Northern Idaho at home Saturday at 5 p.m.
