A USU Eastern professor has been placed on administrative leave following an ongoing investigation, university officials announced this week.
On Tuesday afternoon, USU Eastern’s Greg Dart confirmed that professor and local photographer Tyson Chappell has been placed on administrative leave. This is following allegations that were put forth against Chappell by former students. The university has not released information to ETV News on the nature of the allegations or the expected duration of the investigation.
The announcement was made to Chappell’s classes, who were also informed that they would be receiving their instruction electronically during the leave and investigation. Courses will be broadcast from the Logan campus for the foreseeable future.
Chappell is a professor that works in the biology department for the local university. Further information has not yet been released regarding Chappell, the investigation or the administrative leave. Officials at the university stated that additional information cannot yet be released due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.
