The Utah State University – College of Eastern Utah volleyball team returned home from a long road trip to split matches against North Idaho College and the College of Southern Idaho on Friday and Saturday.

USU Eastern swept NIC in a shocker on Friday. NIC was number one in the conference at the time of the match.

“[The match] gives us momentum for the Region Tournament,” said co-head coach Grant Barraclough. “It was a tough week coming from a three-game road trip last week.”

“We worked on leading and staying ahead,” said co-head coach Chelsey Warburton. “It was a team win.”

Miranda Parkinson had 10 kills. Joy Malone, Kylie Cordon and Whitney Fieldstead had seven kills each. Abigale Ericson had 13 digs.

The team couldn’t keep the momentum going against CSI on Saturday, losing 25-20, 14-25, 20-25 and 13-25.

Cordon had nine kills and 18 digs in the match. Danee Merrell chipped in with 25 assists and Ericson had 16 digs.
