USU Eastern Press Release
The USU Eastern dance team was invited to perform at the Utah Miss Drill Solo Championship, a prestigious competition for elite dancers that compete for the title of Miss Drill Utah. The winner of the event then travels to compete on a national platform against all state representatives.
The dance team guest performed its game day hip hop on stage along with other collegiate teams, including Weber, Utah Valley University and the University of Utah.
“We are very fortunate to have been requested to attend, giving us the opportunity to perform for so many talented dancers,” said head coach Brandi Taylor-Johansen. “This kind of exposure helps us in recruiting efforts, gives my team performance time to show off their hard work and skills, and helps us to prepare for our national competition in April.”
Members Trinady Lindsey, Haylee Lamb, Brooklyn Lamb and head coach Taylor-Johansen have all competed in this competition while attending high school and were recognized on stage after their performance.
If you would like to have the dance team, cheer team or mascot Emmett the Eagle perform at your next event, please contact Taylor-Johansen at usuespiritsquad@usu.edu
