USUE Men’s Basketball Falls at Home to Snow *Photo Gallery*

Utah State Eastern men’s basketball lost to the Snow College Badgers 73-63 at home on Thursday night. It was a tale of two halves inside the BDAC as both teams went back and forth in the first half with the Eagles leading at halftime by one.

The Badgers used their “3 and D” style of play very effectively in the second half as they shot 54% from three and forced 10 Eagle turnovers. For the game, the Badgers shot 12 of 29 for 41.4% from three and forced 19 turnovers.

USU Eastern guard Blaze Nield led the team in scoring with 17 points along with seven rebounds and three assists. Freshman guard Tanner Nygren scored 14 points off the bench for USU Eastern. Nygren and Nield had eight steals combined against the Badgers.

USU Eastern now sits in fourth place with a 4-6 conference record. Thursday’s loss also extends the Eagles losing streak to three games.

The Eagles will have a week to prepare for their final two games of the season. On Thursday, Feb. 21, they will travel to Rangely to take on Colorado Northwest followed by their final regular season game on Saturday, Feb. 23 at home against Southern Idaho.
