USUE’s Rojas Signs With Florida National

Utah State Eastern men’s basketball player Nico Rojas has signed a letter of intent to continue his collegiate basketball career at Florida National University.

Rojas, a sophomore from Bogota, Colombia, started 28 and played in 59 games in his two seasons at USU Eastern. As an Eagle, Rojas averaged 6.9 points with 4.7 rebounds per game and shot 61% from the field.

He is the third member of the 2017-18 men’s basketball team to sign with a four-year institution. The others are Rafael Monteiro (Augusta University) and Milan Surlic’ (University of Sioux Falls).

Florida National is a NAIA institution located in Hialeah, Florida just outside Miami. They play in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association division against teams from the state of Florida and the East Coast.

Utah State Eastern basketball went 18-13 overall in 2017-18 and its season ended in the Region XVIII Tournament Semifinals against eventual NJCAA National Runner-up College of Southern Idaho.
