Helper City was deemed Utah’s Christmas Town nearly 30 years ago. This is a title that the town has taken seriously, working hard each year to bring the community a myriad of events and fun that are geared toward the holiday season.
Mark Montoya recently celebrated his 19th year working on the festivities in 2017. Montoya, along with Brenda Deeter, are responsible for bringing the massive amounts of joy that the events provide for the community. At the first 2018 Helper City Council meeting that commenced on Thursday evening, new Mayor Lenise Peterman, along with the rest of the city council, recognized the duo for their vigilance.
Deeter and Montoya were awarded with certificates of appreciation for the countless days and years that they have dedicated to the community. Mayor Peterman said that she wished to let them know that they are deeply appreciated for all that they do.
“It’s a small token compared to what you’ve done for our community,” Mayor Peterman said.
