A rollover accident on Wood Hill resulted in two Carbon County residents being transported for medical attention on Wednesday evening.

According to Price City Police Captain Bill Barnes, the incident reportedly occurred at approximately 11 p.m. when the brakes on a Toyota 4Runner stopped operating when coming down the hill. The driver, 22-year-old Zachary Darbro of Price, was unable to stop or control the vehicle, causing it to strike a cement culvert and roll 3/4 onto the passenger side. The car came to rest on the passenger side where 24-year-old Debra Sacco of Spring Glen was sitting.

According to Barnes, a second vehicle was following behind the 4Runner and witnessed the accident. Authorities were called and responded to the scene where Sacco had to be extricated from the vehicle. Darbro, who was reportedly wearing a seatbelt, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Castleview Hospital for treatment. Sacco, who was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt, was transported by air to Utah Valley Hospital for a head injury as well as other minor injuries.

“In the grand scheme of things, it wasn’t that serious of a crash,” Barnes said. “But injuries are always worse when someone is not wearing a seatbelt.”

Barnes said both parties are expected to make a full recovery from the incident. Authorities do not believe impairment from drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
