Carbon High Dino Moves to Final Round of USA Today Best Mascot Contest

With 1,500,096 votes the Carbon High Dinos has moved to the final round of the best Mascot contest against the five other regional winners.

With the Dinos against some heavy hitters alreadyВ bringing in four million votes, the Mascot needs our help!

USA TODAY High School Sports is letting the fans choose the best high school sports mascot in the country, from A (the Auks in Delaware) to Z (the Zizzers in Missouri). The contest began at 11 a.m. Monday, February 25, and ends Monday, March 25 at 3 p.m.

The USA TODAY HSS staff has chosen 255 of the nation’s most unique high school mascots – five per state (and Washington D.C.), with voting on the state round running from Feb. 25 to March 5. Currently, the 51 winners have advanced to the second round which includes six regions..

The six regional winners will now compete from March 15-25 for the chance to be named the best high school sports mascot in America.

The national winner will receive $2,000 for its athletic department. Second place will be awarded $1,000, third ($500), fourth ($250) and fifth ($100).
