Water Line Break Declared Official Local State of Emergency

As previously reported, a severe water line break that is approximately 30 feet below the surface has rendered a large number of residents in Carbon County without water. Water is unable to travel through the sole line that serves the unincorporated areas of Wellington City and other areas of Carbon County.

PRWID customers have been asked to watch their water use for the time being as crews work tirelessly to fix the break. The Carbon County Board of Commissioners, as well as Wellington City, have officially signed documents that declare the water issue a State of Emergency.

These documents were signed the morning of April 17 and declare Carbon County as a disaster area requiring aid, assistance and aid relief pursuant to the provisions of local and state statutes.
