Wayne jumped out in Friday’s game against Pinnacle before the Panthers even had time to grab some seeds. The Badgers struck for 11 runs in the first inning and never looked back. They extended their lead to 17 by the third inning. Pinnacle got a couple back but lost the lopsided game, 17-4.
Wayne only allowed five hits in the contest. One of those hits came from Michael Schmitz, who hit a triple and drove in two. Mikey Vigil looked good in his limited time on the mound. He closed the game out going 1 2/3 innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out three.
Pinnacle will be on the road to Tabiona on Monday and Diamond Ranch Academy on the Wednesday before it heads back to take on Piute at home on the Friday.
