Weed Burning Results in Structure Fire in Castle Dale

At 1:23 p.m. Thursday afternoon, authorities responded to a structure fire in Castle Dale. A landowner was burning weeds in the area and a large, old tree started on fire.

The fire spread from the tree to surrounding sheds and the garage. Fire units from Castle Dale, Orangeville and Ferron responded along with Emery County Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Shaun Bell was able to knock down the majority of the flames with the firehose and the assistance of Castle Dale fire chief Ignacio Arrien while waiting for the other fire units to respond.

The Castle Dale ambulance responded to assist.There were no injuries reported.
