UBKRI held its rodeo at the Western Park in Vernal on Friday. Members of the Emery Junior High Rodeo team receiving qualifying points included Kayson Jensen, second, and Byron Christiansen, fourth, in the bareback riding.
Christiansen also placed ninth in goat tying, second in boys’ break away and ninth in ribbon roping. Zeek Weber was 10th in ribbon roping.
On Saturday, UJRA’s rodeo was also at the Western Park in Vernal. Emery Junior High team member Race Gordon was eighth in the boys’ breakaway, and another Emery Team member Byron Christiansen was fourth in bull riding, second in bareback, fifth in goats and, with his partner, third in team roping.
At this time, Christiansen is sitting second in boys all around state standings.
Junior high teams will compete in Salina on Friday and Saturday.
