An early Sunday morning call to dispatch ended up with four children without parents, and police investigating an apparent murder/suicide.
Price City Police Department issued a press release about the incident.
At about 2:48 am on 02/10/2013 a man called the Price Utah Public Safety Dispatch and reported that he shot his wife and intended to shoot himself. Price City Police, assisted by officers from the Carbon County Sheriff’s Department, Utah Highway Patrol and Helper Police, responded to the residence in the area of 600 West 300 South, Price.
Four minor children were safely removed from the residence as officers attempted contact with the husband and wife who remained inside.
A Carbon County Sheriff SWAT team entered the residence and discovered the bodies of David Scott Donaldson 37, and Shaniel Kaye Donaldson 32, В in the master bedroom. They are the victims of an apparent murder/suicide.
The investigation by Price P.D. and the Utah State Medical Examiner’s Office is ongoing and officers are still at the scene.
The children were not physically harmed. Sgt. Bill Barnes of the Price City Police Department stated that the children are be cared for by extended family and both sides of the family have stepped in to help with the children and cope with the tragedy.
No further information will be released until Monday morning, (02/11/2013).
