Those that ever found themselves wishing they could fling a pie in someone’s face to find out how satisfying it would be were given that opportunity on Wednesday afternoon.

The annual When Pies Fly fundraiser that benefits the Carbon County Senior Center was hosted at the center once again at 1 p.m. This year, the lucky individuals participating were Carbon County Sheriff Jeff Wood, Carbon County Commissioners Tony Martines, Larry Jensen and Casey Hopes, Camilla Bryson, Floyd Brown and the center’s own Robbie Jensen.

For just $1 a ticket or $5 for six tickets, the participants names were thrown onto tickets that were chosen at random. Donning protective eye-wear and plastic jackets to cover their clothing, the flinging of the pies ensued. It then concluded when the commissioners’ and sheriff’s wives and friends were invited to each throw a pie at the men.

A grand total of $694 was raised for the center with the assistance of this event.
