Wellington Elementary hosted the Lions Club for a Constitution Bee on Thursday morning. This activity is similar to a spelling bee but tests the students on their knowledge about the Constitution of the United States.
The Lions Club from Price visited the school to watch the friendly competition between peers. There were 17 participating students and prize money was awarded to those that finished in places first through fifth. First place was earned by Tanner Greenhalgh, second place was Wyatt Liin, third went to Wesley Melo, Carter Warbuten took fourth and Bailey Zozaya landed fifth place.
Mike Eisenberg, a past District Governor 28-U and past Council Chair MD-28, stated, “Recently, the Lions of Multiple District 28 in Utah were awarded a $30,000 grant from the Sorenson Legacy Foundation and hope to implement the U.S. Pocket Constitution Book program throughout the state of Utah. Wellington Elementary is the model program we hope to emulate.”
