Every Friday, Wellington Elementary celebrates spirit day. Last Friday, in honor of Halloween, students wore black, orange and purple.
Students will be starting Red Ribbon Week with the theme of “Love Yourself Enough to Say NO” on Monday. Students will be wearing red, white, pink and hearts. On Monday morning, the kids will sign a pledge saying they will be drug free.
The Wellington Elementary Halloween carnival and silent auction will be on Monday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. The carnival will be in the gym at Wellington Elementary. Costumes are encouraged along with a free entry. Those in attendance may bring a can of food and get two tickets or buy two tickets for $1.
Tuesday is “Turn Your Back on Drugs.” Students will be wearing backwards shirts and hats. Wednesday is “Be Strong, Say NO” and they will be wearing superhero or princess attire. Thursday is crazy hair and socks day and the theme is “I Respect Myself by Being Drug Free Head to Toe.” On the last day, students will wear their Halloween costumes to go along with the theme “No Bones About it, Drugs are SCARY.”
Each day, prizes will be given to the students who have the most school spirit.
