Over the weekend, members of the community had the chance to discover what’s new on the Huntington and Eccles Canyon National Scenic Byway as part of a grand opening passport tour.
To start the event, participants obtained passport cards to assist them on the journey. Traveling along the byway through the two canyons, participants were encouraged to stop at each interpretive sign along the way. There, volunteers stamped cards and led groups through various activities.
After stopping at all seven signs and having their cards stamped, participants next made their way to the nearest entry/exit station for goodie bags filled with freebies and discounts to be used throughout Carbon, Emery and Sanpete counties.
“Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped with the tour,” the Carbon County Office of Tourism shared. “The byway is beautiful and we hope many of you visit it and enjoy it as much as we do.”
