Families gathered at Carbon High School Monday evening for a night focused around families. The special event was sponsored by Carbon School District, Carbon C.A.R.E. Coalition and the WhyTry Program.

Dinner was served to participants and various community partners and organizations had booths set up in the hallway. Candy was passed out by the vendors, as well as information to let families know what kind of support is available to them.

A featured presentation by Christian Moore finished up the night. Moore is an internationally-renowned author, speaker, licensed clinical social worker and founder of the WhyTry Program. Moore’s program combines visual metaphors with other multisensory learning tools, such as music, activities, journaling, video, and engaging discussion to deliver social and emotional skills to youth of all learning types. The program is in over 18,000 schools and 500 school districts in 50 states and countries worldwide.

Alisa Morley from Carbon School District was pleased by the turnout to the event. “I thought it was really nice. The partners were supportive and helped wherever they could. It was just a really good event.”
