A big region game between the Wildcats and the Spartans took place on Friday night. The teams were locked up until Emery went on a huge run and led by six, 25-19, at the break.

Richfield remained undaunted and began closing the gap. As with many close games, the contest came down to free throws. Unfortunately, Emery shot just 4-10 from the charity stripe and gave up the game late, 49-45.

Luke Justice scored 12 points while Kysen Curtis added 11. On the other hand, Brett Rasmussen led the Spartans with eight rebounds. Emery only logged 13 turnovers, but missed opportunities at the foul line came back to haunt the Spartans.

Emery (5-12, 2-3) only has one game this week, which will take place in Cedar City on Friday against the Falcons (6-12, 3-1).
