The USU Eastern cheerleaders recently welcomed youth to participate in a mini cheer camp at the university’s campus. In this camp, the youth were able to learn drills taught by the Eagles.
Attendees were also taught an Eagle cheer and dance routine that they were able to perform at the USU Eastern basketball game versus Snow College on Thursday. About 50 kids from the community attended this three-day clinic.
The clinic was divided into three groups: minis, middles and juniors. Each level increased in difficulty for those who were more experienced.
“It’s exciting when we get to implement what we do for these younger kids,” said head coach for the USU Eastern cheerleaders, Kelley Bosone. “The cheerleaders have been taught to be good role models because these children look up to them.”
Bosone previously held the title of head cheer coach for the Eagles from 2009 to 2013 before returning to lead this year.
