The Emery County Domestic Violence Coalition hosted the 13th Annual Community Awareness Program on Wednesday in support of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Karsyn Robb, a 16-year-old singer-songwriter from Park City, spoke and performed as part of the program.

Robb told stories about dating abuse she read as part of her ninth-grade English class. The stories inspired Robb’s original work “You Told Me,” which she performed during the program.

All proceeds from the single will be donated to Peace House, a women’s shelter in Park City.

Robb performed many songs and encouraged everyone in attendance to become more aware of domestic violence and the problems it causes.

Robb also performed her music and gave a presentation at Emery High School later in the day.

Robb’s work can be followed at www.facebook.com/karsynrobbmusic and www.karsynrob.com.
