Zone Resource Manager Roger Barton Recognized With Graham S. Quate Conservationist Award

Roger Barton, Zone Resource Manager for Carbon, Emery, Grand and San Juan counties, was recently recognized at the Utah Association Conservation District (UACD) Convention.

Barton coordinates a multitude of districts throughout the Castle Country area and nearby. Once per month, Barton visits all of the conservation districts to ensure that everything is running smoothly. Barton also works with all of the partners such as farm service agencies, the Natural Resources Conservation Service, Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, counties and more.

Overseeing many employees, Barton and his staff work with anything regarding natural resources, spearheading many programs and different projects as well as assisting in grant applications and funding.

Barton received the Graham S. Quate Conservationist Award, which recognizes outstanding service of at least one career employee of a Utah conservation partner agency each year. Barton was awarded on Friday in St. George.
