Sevier County authorities have confirmed the deaths of two individuals from a Saturday night plane crash in the mountains near the Emery/Sevier County line.

Sheriff Nathan Curtis confirmed to etv10news.com that a single-engine aircraft carrying two passenges crashed in the area of Saleretus Canyon approximately four miles over the Sevier County line.

The aircraft allegedly encountered bad weather just before it went down. The NTSB and FAA are assisting in the investigation.

The names of the victims have yet to be released.

Search and rescue teams from Emery, Sanpete, Sevier, and Wayne Counties assisted in finding the wreckage Sunday. The plane was last seen on radar Saturday night.

The plane took off from an undisclosed location in California and was en-route to Aspen, Colo.
