Austin Allred won first place in bull riding at the opening high school rodeo of the season. He was the only rider to ride all three bulls at the Intermountain Icebreaker held at the Golden Spike Arena, March 3, 4 and 5 in Ogden.

Allred received third place on Thursday, second place on Friday and second place in the short go on Saturday, receiving a buckle each time. He was first place in average, for which he also received a buckle and a saddle.

This was the 5th Annual Intermountain Icebreaker Rodeo for all current high school and junior high school members of the National High School Rodeo Association. The participants were competing for $35,000 in trophies, buckles and saddles. Contestants came from all over the United States.
