Lindsey Blanc, Kelsey Sorenson, Cyene Bigelow and Chandelle Nichols all scored in the double figures in the Carbon Lady Dinos’ 51-35 win over North Sanpete on Thursday night in Mt. Pleasant.
More importantly, Carbon stays just behind Richfield in the Region 12 standings. Richfield will travel to Carbon on Tuesday for what should be one of the best Region 12 matchups of the season, with playoff seeding on the line. The Wildcats beat the Dinos 61-44 back on Jan. 17.
Against North Sanpete, Blanc led Carbon with 14 points. The senior has led her team in scoring in 15 of 17 games this season. Bigelow and Nichols each added 11, and Sorenson chipped in 10.
Leading 16-7 after one quarter of play, Carbon kept its foot on the pedal in the second to take a commanding, 31-11 lead into halftime.
Carbon (14-3, 4-1 Region 12, #3 in 3A) will host Richfield (15-2, 4-0 Region 12, # 2 in 3A) on Tuesday. The game will be broadcast live on ETV Channel 10 at 7p.m.
