Before ending Tuesday’s Emery County Commission Meeting, Commissioner Jeff Horrocks mentioned to those in attendance that new fire mandates were coming.
On the heels of the rapidly-growing Seeley Mountain fire which broke out Monday evening in Huntington Canyon, Horrocks’ words couldn’t have come at a better time. The fire has burned over 600 acres, so far, and has caused multiple mandatory evacuations.
“We ask Emery County to adhere to those and to be careful,” he said.
The forthcoming mandates will encompass open burning, fireworks, and firearms.
