Blue Grass Musician Charlie Simmons performed for the crowd Thursday night at Price City’s Culture Connection concert series in the Peace Gardens.
The event began with Kathy Hanna-Smith introducing Simmons.
“Thanks for coming out. It’s a little bit of an ugly night, but a pretty sky,” she said. “We are sad about what’s going on around us, but glad you could come.”
Smith also talked about how the Price City Library will be hosting an activity at each Culture Connection performance. That night they crafted stars.
“I got the view tonight,” said Simmons prior to his set. “The only good thing I can say about all this is I don’t have the sun in my eyes.”
He started off by playing a song called “Deep River Blues,” by a musician that had a huge influence on him playing the guitar.
Simmons also said, “It’s nice to be back. This is one of my favorite venues to play at.”
He then played a variety of different songs including some original pieces. He ended the evening by saying, “I admire you guys for coming out with all the smoke tonight.”
The Price City Culture Connections series occurs each Thursday, through August 30.В PerformancesВ begin at 7 p.m..
