Seniors Derek Young and Jordan Blanc powered the Carbon Dinos past the Juab Wasps Wednesday night to secure the team’s first region victory by a score of 59-46.
Carbon had lost its previous three games, two of which came during Region 12 play. Blanc and Young scored 21 and 19 points, respectively. The three consecutive losses came by a combined 12 points.
The Dinos (8-7, 1-2 Region 12) will travel to North Sanpete Friday to continue its region schedule. The Hawks have won just one game on the season (1-11, 1-2 Region 12).
