The city of Green River was overstuffed with visitors, community members and more as the town celebrated the 69th annual Green River Melon Days last week.
Festivities featured at the two-day event included a queen pageant, square dancing, a Saturday morning parade, softball tournament, trap shoot tournament, a car show, live performances, chalk the museum activity and more.
The annual event also included local growers selling melons from Israeli to honeydew and, of course, watermelon. The three major growers of the area, Dunham, Thayn and Vetere, were all on hand to provide for the local festivities.
