Emery County Commissioner Keith Brady hosted a meeting Tuesday evening to continue plans for the 2017 Emery County Fair. This was second meeting to consider options for the fair. Though only a handful of people attended, much was accomplished. Tentative dates are being considered, pending contacts with involved parties.
Venues, activities and specialty acts as well as a rodeo, concert and other tournaments were suggested from the group and are being considered. The group would really appreciate more input from other county volunteers. Anyone interested is invited to attend the next meeting to be held October 4 at 6 p.m. at the Emery County Administration Building.
Representatives from Castle Dale City and Cleveland City were in attendance and each participant received assignments to try to make contacts and finalize more plans. Some questions remain such as who is going to be in charge, what facilities and infrastructure are needed, and what funds are available. Some possibilities include a large tent, a beer garden, concert, rodeo and assistance to the county.
An urgency remains as contracts with producers, vendors, performers and contractors need to be secured very soon.
