Sophomore Bailey Huggard made sure her presence was known Friday afternoon as the Lady Spartan cracked three home runs in Emery’s 15-12 win against the visiting Gunnison Bulldogs.
Emery grabbed a lead early on, gaining two runs in the first and second before falling behind Gunnison in the fourth, where the Bulldogs added five to their previous three and brought the score to 8-4.
Emery continued their scoring action, putting up a game-high seven runs in the sixth before ending the game 15-12.
Huggard led her team with not only her three homers but also seven RBIs while teammate Jayla Weston grabbed a homerun as well. Morgann Donaldson, Adri Childs and Regan Rasmussen also each hit a double during the game.
Emery will next travel to Carbon on Wednesday to face off against cross-county rivals, the Lady Dinos.
