The Emery Spartans scored eight of their nine runs in the first four innings Thursday afternoon against Providence Hall and coasted to the 9-5 win in the 2A loser’s bracket, earning another game late Thursday afternoon.
The Spartans scored two runs in each of the first and third innings before exploding for four runs in the fourth to take a commanding 8-1 lead. Providence Hall scored four runs total in the sixth and seventh innings combined to make the game interesting.
Emery will now take on the Enterprise Wolves at 4:30 p.m. at Kearns High School. The loser of that game will conclude its season.
