The following is from a Price City Police Department press release:
Price resident, Holly A. Martineau, DOB 8-1-83, from Kenilworth, reportedly walked away from a residence in the Coves area of Price she had been visiting at, during the early morning hours of Sunday, soon after midnight June 2nd, 2013. Ms. Martineau reportedly was thought to have walked to the general area of Wood Hill. Ms. Martineau was reported missing to Price Police at 2:30 p.m. later that day.
Ms. Martineau’s body was discovered by a family friend on the morning of Tuesday, June 4th, who was part of a group of friend and family members who had been looking for her. Police were notified upon her discovery.
Officers from the Price City Police Department, deputies from the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office, and a Utah State Medical Examiner Office representative investigated the scene. From the evidence at the scene, it is clear that Ms. Martineau was by herself, and was the apparent victim of an accidental slip on loose dirt, at the edge of a 100’ cliff. Ms. Martineau fell the 100’ to a steep boulder strewn slope.
Recovery efforts for Ms. Martineau were carried out by the Price City Fire Department’s rescue squad. Ms. Martineau will be transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
