The Pinnacle Lady Panthers traveled to face the Escalante Moquis on Tuesday.
Escalante came out swinging in the first quarter to take a 17-8 lead. The Panthers scratched and clawed their way back to pull within one, 20-19, at halftime. Escalente answered back with a big third quarter to go up 36-27. The Panthers had 18 turnovers in the game, which hurt their chances. The deficit became too much to overcome for Pinnacle as the team fell 43-36.
Stephanie Sasser had a great game, recording a double-double with 12 points, 15 rebounds and nine blocks.
The Lady Panthers (5-9, 0-1 Region 19) will host their first home region game on Jan. 15 against Wayne (3-4, 1-0 Region 19). These teams played each other earlier in the season when Wayne stood strong at home with a 66-15 win. The game will be streamed live online.
