Recent changes at the Wellington Police Department caught the attention of several concerned citizens. These citizens attended the July 17 Wellington City Council meeting to show support for their city and to ask council members specific questions regarding their town.

Wellington resident, Lynda Jewkes voiced her concerns through a letter presented before the council. In her letter, Jewkes questioned the city budget, employee happiness, council member assignments and the sudden departure of former police chief, Lee Barry. Jewkes assured the council that she will be in attendance at the Aug. 7 public meeting and looks forward to answers.

City government meetings are conducted regularly and citizens are encouraged to attend. Without public input, officials are unable to make decisions based on citizen concerns. A complete list of local public meetings will be soon be posted soon to his website.
