Hard work and determination is about to pay off for Green River youth. The grand opening of Pirates Den Teen Center will take place Monday, Aug. 12 from 5-8 p.m. and the public is invited.
Pirates Den coordinator, Kathy Brady explained that the center will be used for after school programs, tutoring and various other activities. “We have teachers who have volunteered their time to help our youth with homework three days a week,” she explained. “This program is called TnT which stands for teens and teachers.”
And like most teen centers, children will have a safe place to hang out after school. Pirates Den will house computers used for homework and research, ping pong, foosball and air hockey tables, darts, bumper pool and PS3 consoles.
The teen center will be located at 545 West Main Street.
